A fresh death threat targeting Bollywood star Salman Khan was sent via WhatsApp to Mumbai’s Transport Department office in Worli on Monday, triggering a police investigation. The threatening message warned that the actor would be killed inside his Bandra residence, Galaxy Apartments, and that his car would be blown up with a bomb.

A case has been filed at the Worli Police Station, and officials have launched an investigation to track down the sender. Salman Khan has faced several such threats over the years, particularly after his conviction in the 1998 Blackbuck poaching case.

In a major security scare last year, on April 14, two men on a motorcycle fired four gunshots outside his Bandra home and fled. The attack was later claimed by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang, which also took responsibility for the murder of Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, a close associate of the actor.

Lawrence Bishnoi, who is in jail, has a long-running feud with Salman Khan, stemming from the Blackbuck case, as his Bishnoi community regards Blackbucks as sacred. He has issued multiple threats to the actor in the past.
A case has been registered against 18 members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for allegedly planning to kill Bollywood actor Salman Khan.

Back in November last year, the actor had received another death threat, this time linked to a song that mentioned both his and Bishnoi’s names. The threatening message was sent to Mumbai’s traffic control room. It warned that the songwriter would face serious consequences within a month, and challenged Salman Khan by saying, “If he has the courage, let him protect them.”

Due to the increasing threats, Salman Khan  has been under tight security. After last year’s firing incident outside his Bandra residence, his security was upgraded to the Y+ category. The actor also took extra steps to protect his home. According to sources, he carried out major renovations to improve security. The windows of his house are now bulletproof, and a high-tech security system has been installed. His home is also monitored by high-resolution CCTV cameras to keep an eye on any suspicious activity.
