The trade fight between the United States and China has grown more serious. It started when US President Donald Trump announced a 145% tariff on Chinese goods. In response, China decided to add 125% more tariffs on American products. At the same time, a video made with artificial intelligence (AI) appeared online and has been widely shared. It seems to show a future where Americans are working hard in factories for Chinese companies.
AI video shows ‘dystopian’ future
The AI video, which people say may have been made by a Chinese social media user, shows Americans working in factories of big US brands like Nike, Tesla, and Apple. In the video, they wear Nike shirts and hats with the US flag while making shoes. They are seen eating chips and drinking soda during work.
Later in the video, more factory scenes appear. It ends with a message, “Make America Rich Again”, placed above broken signs of big American companies. The video gives the impression of a future where Americans are struggling and working under tough conditions.
Social media reacts strongly
The video got many comments online. One person wrote, “They are having fun,” while another said, “It’s not good to make fun of hard-working people. There is dignity in labour.”
A third user shared their thoughts: “Are Americans willing to do these jobs? I see factories with automation and robots in the comments, but that would take years and years… So I’m a little confused as to what will happen.”
Someone else warned, “Not sure that poking fun at American workers is what they want to do… We are their largest consumer.”
Meanwhile, China’s finance ministry said, “The U.S. imposition of abnormally high tariffs on China seriously violates international and economic trade rules.”
