Sanjay Raut claims PM Modi told RSS about retirement: Who will lead after him?

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has made a big claim, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) headquarters to inform its chief, Mohan Bhagwat, about his retirement plans. He also said that the RSS will decide who will lead the country after Modi.

PM Modi’s visit to RSS headquarters

Raut made these comments after PM Modi visited the RSS headquarters in Nagpur on Sunday. This was only the second time a prime minister had officially visited the RSS central office. Before this, Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited in 2000 during his third term as PM.

“Perhaps he went there to submit his retirement application. To my knowledge, in the last 10–11 years, Modi ji has never visited the RSS headquarters. This time, he went to inform Mohan Bhagwat that he is saying ‘Tata-Bye-Bye’,” Raut said while speaking to reporters.

During his visit, PM Modi praised the RSS for its long-standing ideology. “The seed of ideology that was sown 100 years ago has grown into a massive tree. The principles and values of the RSS have elevated it to great heights, with lakhs of kar sevaks as its branches,” he said.

Modi also paid tribute at the Dr. Hedgewar Smruti Mandir in the Reshimbag area, which is dedicated to RSS founder Keshav Baliram Hedgewar and its second chief, Golwalkar.

RSS to choose Modi’s successor?

Sanjay Raut further claimed that the RSS is looking for a leadership change at the national level. “Sangh will decide the future leader, and he will be from Maharashtra. There are two things I have understood about the RSS: first, the organisation wants a change in the country’s leadership, and second, Modi ji’s time is over, and he himself wants change,” Raut said.

He also alleged that the RSS is now playing a role in selecting the next BJP national president. According to him, PM Modi’s visit could be part of a bigger political plan within the Sangh Parivar.

As of now, there has been no official response from the RSS or PM Modi regarding these claims.
