On April 7, 2025, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led the ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ padyatra in Begusarai district, Bihar, aiming to spotlight the pressing issues of youth unemployment and migration. Accompanied by Kanhaiya Kumar, national in-charge of NSUI, the march saw participants donning white T-shirts as a symbol of unity and protest.
Rahul Gandhi urged Bihar’s youth to join the march, stating, “Come wearing a white T-shirt, ask questions, raise your voice—to put pressure on the government for your rights, to hold them accountable. Let’s come together and make Bihar a state of opportunities.”
This marked Rahul’s third visit to Bihar since January, underscoring the state’s significance in Congress’s campaign strategy. The march addressed concerns over unemployment, inflation, paper leaks, and the reduction in government jobs, emphasizing the need for systemic change.
In response, BJP leaders criticized the initiative. Union Minister Nityanand Rai remarked that Rahul’s visit aimed to create problems for his alliance, while Union Minister Giriraj Singh accused Congress of failing to eradicate poverty during its tenure
